ABOUT THE WORK
Amanda Richards focuses her practice on functional sculpture, each piece is cast by hand allowing the material composition to vary. By melting down antique metal objects she gives them new life, allowing the molten metal to flow naturally through their new form. The chaotic metal is encapsulated in its smooth resin shell creating a dreamlike glowing pearl.
